We’re taking over management of a WordPress site that has Admin Menu Editor installed. I’ve uninstalled the plugin, but the Dashboard menu doesn’t return to normal. I’ve tried reset with “domain.com/wp-admin/?reset_admin_menu=1”, but it has no effect.

I’ve also tried the “load default menu” and nothing changes, either.

This seems like an excellent plugin for it’s purposes, but right now, I just need it gone so we can move forward with helping this customer.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks,
    Mr.3

Oh, and this is the free version, not Pro. Standard WP site, not WPMU.

Well, I apologize for the mean things I was thinking about this plugin.

I found that for whatever deranged reason, the original developer not only used this plugin, but then had a handful of “remove_menu_page” calls inside of the theme’s functions.php. (I’m guessing they bashed the off-the-shelf theme.)

So, if anybody else is having the extreme weirdness that I was experiencing, try switching to a different theme and see if things look better.

Credit to this plugin (and/or WordPress) architecture, this plugin was being very respectful of the themes ‘wishes’.
