How to update plugin without paying $$$

I need to upgrade my wordpress core in order to take some security fixes and as such I’m currently going through my plugins to see if they are compatible with the newest core update.

I’m currently on types 1.6.6.3 but can’t seem to upgrade without paying $149 a year, which is concerning as there appears to be a number of fixes required before I upgrade to the latest wp core version.

Can you (the developers of toolset types, although if anyone else knows please feel free to chime in) confirm
1. If 1.6.6.3 will work with the newest core
2. If there is any way to upgrade without paying a large amount of cash
3. If there is anyway to take the fixes, in order to get 1.6.6.3 working with the newest wpcore

Types is a free Plugin-

You can get it in this very page on top, section “About this Plugin” > “Toolset Types”

You can write to [email protected] to ask a discount which might be provided, under certain circumstances.

We only support compatibility with current Plugin version <> WordPress.
It might work, but I can’t grant it.

2. If there is any way to upgrade without paying a large amount of cash
No, paid plugins are paid due to this exactly. You get yearly or life time support and upgrades.

3. If there is anyway to take the fixes, in order to get 1.6.6.3 working with the newest wpcore
No, we do not publish Code.

Hi Beda,

I get the message “Toolset Types cannot update because your site’s registration is not valid. Please register Toolset again for this site first.”

I have never paid for the plugin so don’t have “Toolset” how can I update my Types plugin without paying these fee?

Here are the screenshots showing that I only have the free “Toolset Types”

You do not need to pay for Types.
Types is a free Plugin.
You can register it for free, and get Support for free.

You can simply follow the Link that the “Please register Toolset again for this site first” provides you.

And then please open a Ticket in the Free Types Support Forum, because this should not happen.
Types is free and must not be registered if I am correctly up to date with our requirements.
