How to use custom post type

    Hello,
    I have a BIG problem.
    I created a custom post type with the help of Custom Post Type UI.
    Browsing categories with my old theme works fine. But now with your theme archive.php gives me an empty result.
    The single post type pages show up so far. It’s just that I can’t search or browse them.
    In my old template I used
    $query_string.=”&post_type=”myownposttype”
    What do I do now?

    ok
    I found the following to be helpful
    Make Archives.php Include Custom Post Types
    But I think your very VERY good them should be able to customize this as well.

    Thanks for the suggestion. Is there any reason why this shouldn’t be the default behavior? Wondering if this should be standard.

    OK, so I realized the archive.php page is always empty because it doesn’t function as a page template. If you want, try using the Explore page for a more innovative and fun layout.

    Ok, I will give it a try.
    It’s just that I (will) use your theme in parallel to a “normal” destop theme. Switching between mobile theme and desktop theme will be done automatically by an plugin.

    That’s tricky then because http://yourblog.com/explore will only map to the explore page in Decode, but if it works for you that’s fine.

    I am using a derived child theme of your theme.
    I had to change some things, e.g. use my own logo font for header.
    Even after your theme update I only had to change two line inside “index.php” back to your new values

    <?php get_template_part( 'content', 'none' ); ?>

    and

    <?php decode_paging_nav(); ?>
