.htaccess

Hi,

WordPress installed on windows server. but problem is when its work on permalink. (common settings) default is working fine. but if it is change the setting like Postname its shows 404 error after that creating htaccess file in wordpress installation folder, in this htaccess file is not working on windows server. how it can work on windows server with htaccess file. or else any other option is there to work on window server with htaccess file. Kindly help me.
