htaccess allow directories

    I realy could use some help

    I have wordpress installed in my root and have permalinks on.
    In 1 directory I do not want wordpress and have something else there. I uploaded everything but when I enter it I get a 404 with my wordpress layout.

    the url I want to have is something like
    http://www.mysite.com/nonwordpress/index.php

    I am sure it’s in the htaccess but cant figure it out
