    Hi guys,
I’ve noticed that my htaccess file is easily read. I mean when i type http://www.mysite.com/htaccess, then i can easily see the configuration. But when i repeat it in other blogs like othersblog.com/htaccess, i see 404 error.
Do i have an issue with my hosting? Or it won’t be harmful and i should take it easy?

    thank you

  • .htaccess is actually a file extension. The “dot” in front of it renders it hidden until intentionally viewed in an ftp client or file manager. Normally, it should not be accessible or visible in a browser. I would bet that your file is simply missing the “dot”.

The entire file name should be .htaccess
