.htaccess not rebooting

    Hi there.

    My website http://www.kirstyeckard.com is coming up with the 500 Internal Server Error.
    I have tried to rename the .htaccess file, and the website reloads but nothing loads correctly. Then I tried to go to Settings > Permalinks and save, and the file reboots but does the same thing all over again.
    I have tried to disable the plugins – didn’t work
    I have tried to deactivate the theme – didn’t work

    I am thinking that maybe something is wrong with the actual file that is being written, but I don’t know enough about it.
    Any suggestions or help would be so appreciated?

    There are many things that can cause that kind of error, including a hosting/server problem. Ask your hosting company how to look at the error logs on the server – that should give you some more specific information.
