HTML comments being converted to HTML character codes

I’ve already received an answer from WP Support that my issue is related to Gutenberg. I love your plugin (along with 5 million + others) and am using it on the current site I’m building. Actually, all sites I’ve worked since the scary blocks appeared. My options are:

– Change the editor to “Text” and put your comments.
– Deactivate classic editor at all, and use Gutenberg.
– Use a plugin that allows you to do it.

I was wondering if you had considered adding this ability to your plugin, or maybe it’s already there and I missed it?
