All markup code is stripped.
Are you scheduling these posts for publication or publishing them immediately?
ALL the editing buttons vanish completely
Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
Thanks for the quick reply, esmi. I will try your suggestions.
I wish WP developers would follow the old maxim, “If ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” The HTML editor should never have been purged.
It wasn’t? I understand the HTML tab was renamed Text in 3.5 In neither Text nor Visual tab can I paste HTML without it being stripped.
Just checked my wp-content folder — there is no plugins folder at all.
I understand the HTML tab was renamed Text in 3.5
That was just a tab name change. The editor itself wasn’t changed or reset. It still accepts markup. But you didn’t answer my other question – are you scheduling these posts for publication or publishing them immediately?
Sorry I didn’t answer that. I’m actually trying to paste HTML in Pages, not posts, and I am publishing them immediately.
FYI – It doesn’t matter whether you’re using Pages or Posts. The Text Editor/tab is exactly the same for both and no change has been made to it in WordPress 3.5 other than its tab name. Have you tried:
