My understanding is that the info and error messages will allow some HTML, however, when I attempt to create a hyperlink, it only shows up as plain text with ugly HTML code visible. No hyperlink is generated.

That’s right drewvancamp.
I fixed this, will be availabe in next version (I found other issues I’m going to fix before releasing ;).
