• I have a page with title “Categories” showing a list of internal links to eight categories on my website. Each category is linked from this page using html like this:

    <a title="Internet marketing tutorials teach how to make money online" href="http://www.marketingtomakemoney.com/blog/category/internet-marketing-tutorials/"><strong>Internet marketing tutorials</strong></a>

    Five of the links work as intended but three go to:

    http://www.marketingtomakemoney.com/blog/

    and omit everything after the “/” so that these three all link to the “blog” page without going to the categories. The three that fail are:

    <a title="Internet marketing ebooks show you how to make money online" href="http://www.marketingtomakemoney.com/blog/category/internet-marketing-ebooks/"><strong>Internet marketing ebooks</strong></a>

    <a title="Free stuff to make money online" href="http://www.marketingtomakemoney.com/blog/category/free-stuff-for-internet-marketing/"><strong>Free stuff for internet marketing</strong></a>

    <a title="Internet marketing services help you how to make money online" href="http://www.marketingtomakemoney.com/blog/category/internet-marketing-services/"><strong>Internet marketing services</strong></a>

    They are at positions 1, 6 and 7 on a vertical list. Why do they fail?

    Thank you for any suggestions.

  • The code that is in the source of the categories page on your site does not match the code you have pasted above. This will most likely be the reason.

    This won’t help you right now, but very soon….

    When WP 3.1 comes out, it has an internal linking tool. You won’t need to hard code internal links

    As for your code, …..

    <a title="Internet marketing ebooks show you how to make money online"
    href="http://www.marketingtomakemoney.com/blog/category/internet-marketing-ebooks/"
    target="_self">
    <strong><a title="Internet marketing ebooks" href="http://www.marketingtomakemoney.com/blog/">Internet marketing ebooks</a></strong></a></p>

    is how the actual link looks in your source. You’re links are getting doubled and the second one is winning out
