HTML view makes empty divs close themselves

    Hi

    When I edit a post from the admin panel and click the html view button I insert <div class=”footer”></div>

    However when i hit update it changes the code to read <div class=”footer” />

    This breaks my html, is there a way to supress this behavior other than by adding a   between the div tags?

    Xhtml doesn’t like empty tags, so you’re kind of fighting an uphill battle there.

    What are you trying to achieve?
