There’s one page on our website, which gives a HTTP Error 500 in the backend. The page itself is accessible on the frontend.
This issue only occurs if the logged in user is not an administrator and if the iThemes Security Plugin is turned on.

When the logged in user is an administrator, it is possible to edit the page even when the iThemes Security Plugin is turned on.

So it seems the HTTP Error is caused by a setting in the iThemes security plugin. But I cannot seem to find the setting…

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi @marleenafix, apologies for the late reply! Do you still need help with the issue? If so, please try the following adjustments and let me know if it helps:

    • Disable Default Ban List feature (Security > Settings > Configure > Lockouts > Default Ban List)
    • Disable the PHP Execution options (Security > Settings > Advanced > System Tweaks)
    • Enable XML-RPC feature (Security> Settings> Advanced > WordPress Tweaks> Enable XML-RPC) and allow Default Access to the REST API

If the above does not help, please try deactivating the currently active iTSec features one at a time to see if the issue resolves.

Hope this will help, and I look forward to hearing from you.
