HTTP Error – FTP Uploads vs WordPress Uploads

I have been getting HTTP errors for the last few days when uploading images.

The errors are quite sporadic – sometimes the image will upload, sometimes it wont.

Sometimes compressing the image helps, sometimews it doesn’t.

As an alternative I have began uploading images using FTP through cPanel

The images upload absolutely fine.

I am using the File Manager plugin to see if WordPress can see them. The images are visible in File Manager and visible through cPanel

When I go to add an image to a page that was uploaded through cPanel, sometimes the images are visible in the Insert Media, sometimes they appear faulty (but still work when added) and sometimes they are not visible (even though they are visible in cPanel and File Manager)

Any ideas Why are the images not being recognized?

I am not using much storage as yet.
