    Hi everyone,

I searched through the forum with the same issues, but I found no helpful advice.

I run a lot of sites using WordPress and I know the regular solutions for this problem (plugins off, memory limit, upload size etc) none of them helps, I explain:

Few of our latest sites using WP 3.9.1, all of them have the same problem with upload saying only “HTTP Error”. In the list they are there, but all blank. Other sites using 3.8.X are working perfectly. As I said, these are on one server and every site has the same and suitable settings (latest PHP, memory limit, etc.).

Till yet I only found solutions like turn off plugin, use some extra codes…
In that case these are not helping, the problem on WP 3.9.1 comes without plugins, with plugins, any kind of size (not exceeding the upload limit), and on WP 3.8.X works everything as usual.

If anyone has a solution for that, I will thank any answers! I assume its a new wordpress related problem, but I am still not sure. Any ideas are welcome (other than the already mentioned) 🙂

    Thank you in advance!

  • This is commonly caused by an over-aggressive configuration of your server’s mod_security module. Try asking your hosts about it.

    Thank you for your answer!

I will ask about it, but all other sites have the same settings on everything, with security too. Its also an important fact that few of these 3.9.1 sites used first 3.8.X, and the upload worked.

Still, this can be the solution, if our settings crash with 3.9.1. I will post here what my hosting say about it for further help.

Altough we didn’t changed security settings, the problem was in the server. Probably the sercurity settings automatically changed because of something. They fixed it now, the uploads working.
I haven’t got detailed answer, but to close the thread I think there is a high chance our settings had something problem with the major update, so asking the host if they know about it helped in this case, and also that it may lies on the security. The world develops and so do we.

    Thank you again! Cheers!
