I encountered this while setting up my VPS but never encountered it on my shared hosting accounts yet I setup WP exactly the same on both so couldn’t figure out what the issue was…

If you try Googling the answer you will find people have been struggling with this for 6 years+ and will tell you it’s a conflict with imagemagik versions or tell you to uninstall the kit or tell you to install an alternative image reducing plugin, change your htaccess file, add code to any plugin on your site to do [something] and will come up with many many solutions to try and tell you how to fix the problem.

Well, having spent ages trying to get this error fixed and after trying all the advice offered by all the sites I visited started from 6 years ago up till last month I can tell you that none of that worked. The solution in the end was super, super easy… In my copy of ISPConfig all I had to do was go to my website tab, select the website and change FastCGI to CGI and hit save. That was it. Restarted my VPS and it all worked perfectly from there… That simple.

    Hope this post helps someone.
