• Hi, I´ve installed my blog and all works fine. The only problem is that when I try to upload any media through the uploader of wordpress, I get an “HTTP Error” message. Then when I look at the folder via FTP, the photos appear uploaded, but doesn´t appear in the media list of the blog. I´ve already asked for help in the hosting support page, and they said me that is impossible to supply me script support in the server because i´m suscribed to free hosting.
I hope you can help me. Sorry for my english, i´m writing from argentina and i know only a bit of english.

  • Check your uploads path in Settings->Media. It should be blank in most installs.

Thanks for helping. It was blank. Then I tried writing the same directory in the text box and the error is still there..
I think it´s a script problem of the server. If you find another solution or know another free hosting that works with own domain, I would be grateful.

Ask your hosts if your domain is set to use PHP as FastCGI or an Apache Module. FastCGI will cause upload errors.

I´ve just sent an email to them. When I have the answer I´ll post it here.

They responded this: “If the uploader is making use of sockets, it will not function properly on free hosting.”

So i think that changing my host will be the best solution. If you know any free hosting that works properly with file uploading, I will thank you for saying them.

However, the header image file uploads properly, so I don´t think the problem is that.

I’m sorry but we do not recommend using free hosting with WordPress.

    Anyway, thanks for helping.
