http error when uploading media

Haven’t updated any plugins, even tried restoring an older version of the site, and I still get “http error” when trying to upload media (much smaller than maximum filesize).
Chatted with my server host, they said it’s nothing on their end, it must be WordPress.
Any help would be super appreciated!!
