• When I try to upload a audio file in MP3 format, I get the “HTTP error.” I contacted GoDaddy (my hosting) and they couldn’t fix the issue. They tolled me to post here. The file is 254MB and my max upload size is 10GB. According to GoDaddy customer support, they are not blocking me from uploading a file this big. I believe that the uploader is timing out because I can upload smaller files, but when I try to upload this audio file it will show that its uploading for about a minute then it will stop and show that error above the uploader. Can someone help me?

  • Hey there,

Do you happen to be using a plugin named Smush.it? Or maybe a similar image compression plugin? If so, deactivate it and see if that fixes the issue. I have seen this issue a lot this week with people using Smush.it.

We do not have that plugin. Godaddy had me disable all my plugins and it still created the same error. Here is a list of our plugins,

    Add Posts to Pages
    Google Analytics Dashboard for WP
    Insert HTML Snippet
JW Player 6 Plugin for WordPress
    Meta Slider
    Page Builder by SiteOrigin
    Share Buttons by AddToAny

Our theme is Vantage Premium and we have paid for the full version.

    Hi

Hmm, I would recommend checking out the solutions mentioned here:

Several different solutions exist in that one thread. Good luck!

I looked at that article and all the other articles referred to in that post, and not a single solution worked. Do you have any other ideas?

My suggestion would be to upload it directly via FileZilla, a FTP Client.

That’s what we are currently doing, but it becomes a huge pain when we have to post multiple posts in a small amount of time. We would really like to fix this problem so we can use the built in uploader.

Has this issue been fixed? I seem to have the same issue.
