HTTP:// gives 404. HTTPS:// works

    We have a strange problem on our development website. Everything worked fine until Monday evening whereupon accessing the url using http:// started giving us a 404 error. We discovered this morning, however, that https:// seems to work just fine. I have discussed this with our webmaster and she has informed me that she made no radical changes to the site between Monday afternoon and Monday evening.

    I took a backup of the database and did a search within the SQL and I see some links as https:// but others as http://.

    I am no wordpress expert (although I am a php/mysql developer) so I am really at a loss for what is going on here.

    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for the reply but we figured it out. It was the HOST. We were using a temporary url and they turned that feature off (without telling us) for security purposes…
