Hyperlink does not work

    Hi,
    I am pretty new to WordPress and am currently using version 2.8.6.
    I tried creating hyperlinks in my page but failed. I have no problem in the procedures as I have done it successfully before.
    This time, the error message says 404 – page not found!
    I tested the url of the target page independently in my browser; it’s there alright.
    Can you please advise?
