We’ve recently lost the ability to add hyperlinks to blog posts when using Internet Explorer.

The whole look of the main text box (where we free type / paste text into) has changed, and the ribbon that used to be displayed with the usual symbols for customising the text e.g. Bold, Italicise etc. has disappeared. Instead of the usual link icon (chain), there is now a button called “link” however, pressing this doesn’t appear to do anything (a pop-up opens, allowing me to paste a link into it, but when I click “add link” nothing happens).

The only way I can now see to now add a hyperlink is by clicking to “Text view” and adding in apt html coding.

This is a quick fix for now, but not ideal. It would be useful if the link button worked and even more so if we could retrieve the normal customisation bar.

Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Emily

Unfortunately, it’s the same problem on other computers.

It works ok on Firefox, but unfortunately this is not a universal answer for our needs. We ideally need it to be working on Internet Explorer.

    Thanks for your help

I’m sorry but I cannot replicate your problem in IE11. The link functionality in the Visual editor works fine for – and, I assume, virtually all other IE11 users.

No problem, thanks for looking into it anyway.

    Thanks again
