Hyperlink gone crazy

Hello I am using the Hemmingway theme and when I add a text box widget the hyperlink goes crazy. After the link everything is blue and acts like a hyperlink although it does not take you anywhere. I am not sure how to modify what I have inserted. I follow the general format for hyperlink text, for instance, Spring Bloom Arts Festival<a/>

any help please.
