Hyperlink Same Image to Page from Multiple Web Pages

I am using WordPress for a website (http://thecolorcoachsandiego.com) and not a blog. What I am attempting to do is the rather simple task of hyperlinking an image (Make An Appointment) to my contact page (http://thecolorcoachsandiego.com/contact-us/). When I do the link from my homepage, the link works perfect.

However, when I try to do the same from any other page, I get a popup that says “Image cannot be loaded. Make sure the path is correct and image exist.” I might add that the correct hyperlink path displays correctly in the lower left browser window when the mouse is hovered over the image. I read on a post that an image can only be linked to another page one time. I tried renaming the image and uploading but got the same results.

There is a work around using a text link but that is not as effective visually. Can anyone suggest a solution to this image hyperlink dilema?

Hey there lhilton760,

It seems to me that the problem here is that you are using some PrettyPhoto plugin.

This will make your pictures to be loaded in lightbox – kind of like in a gellery preview where the background is dimmed and the iamge is diplayed on the front.

You can either disable this plugin, or post a link to the one you are using so we can look for a way to disable it for images that links to other pages.

After I try to click the hyperlinked image and get the “Image cannot be loaded. Make sure the path is correct and image exist.” message, then click OK, the page URL changes to http://thecolorcoachsandiego.com/choosing-paint-colors/#!prettyPhoto ; the prettyPhoto you refer too. When I check the plugins, there are no other gallery plugins dealing with images; only what is loaded in WP v4.0.1.

Which file would I find this to remove prettyPhoto or do you have other next steps?

Hello,

You don’t need to remove the prettyphoto plugin. You just need to remove the class “prettyPhoto” in the tag on the other pages.

Hi Calvin… I’m relatively new to WordPress. When you say “remove the class ‘prettyPhoto’ in the tag on the other pages. “, where do I find the tags? I see nothing on the source code for host page (http://thecolorcoachsandiego.com/choosing-paint-colors/) or the hyperlink target page (http://thecolorcoachsandiego.com/contact-us/). I do not see any reference to ‘prettyPhoto’ in the image in the Media Library. I did find reference to ‘prettyPhoto’ in the style.CSS. I deleted those from the CSS file and it made no difference so I put them back.

It seems that the theme you are using – “Elogix” – http://themeforest.net/item/elogix-responsive-business-wordpress-theme/1958520
Is a premium theme and I don’t have access to it, so I don’t know how the theme works.

You should ask the developer about the problem with prettyPhoto.

I finally found the solution by deleting the following file \ColorCoachSanDiego\public_html\wp-content\themes\Elogix\framework\js\jquery.prettyPhoto.js

I don’t recommend the delete solution, best to contact the theme author and ask them what is the best way to disable the prettyPhoto functionality.
