I think I messed up big time.

I had changed the wordpress address url in the settings by adding a sulfolder to the url. Now, I can’t seem to get back into the dashboard. Does anyone know what file or script controls the wordpress address url?

I could give the url but it is no use. You can only get in through the control panel. I have another index.html running at the site url.

    I don’t want to re-install wordpress if I don’t have to.

Please help me if you can.

    Thanks.

Thank you for the guidance. I made the required changes to the functions.php file and the result was this error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function sanitize_option() in /hermes/bosweb/web055/b551/ipg.healthladderscom/ladderstohealth/wp-includes/functions.php on line 494.

I also considered modifying the wp-config,php file but I did not think I should change both.

Or should I consider another option?

    Thanks emsi.

I just wanted to quickly add that the changes that created the problem initially were to the wordpress url, not the site url. The solution proposed referred to the site url only (Changing_the_site_URL). I think the difference may be significant though not sure to what extent.

    Thank you.

You should only use one of method to reset your url

Fatal error: Call to undefined function sanitize_option() in /hermes/bosweb/web055/b551/ipg.healthladderscom/ladderstohealth/wp-includes/functions.php on line 494.

since you got error on functions.php file Using ftp You will need delete that functions.php file in theme and upload it back from copy of theme if you have one on your computer.

I have video on my website to show you how to reset urls

Once again, you came through for me. I don’t know how I can thank you, not just for helping with the problem but for opening my eyes to deeper things. Following your video instructions, I was able to get back into my dashboard without having to visit any complicated codes. You have the touch.

Thank you and may the light continue to shine with you.

    You are welcome

I am having a similar problem. Only i was in the process of relocating my wordpress site from one host and domain name to another. Go daddy to blue host. I went in on the general settings page and redirected my site to the new url name. Now i am locked out of both pages. I have been trying al the solutions above but none seem to work. My error messages are plenty, so instead of posting them heres the links below in case anyone has any ideas.

I went in and set my wp-config.php and function.php back to normal. Just kinda lost now =( I also didn’t disconnect any of my plugins before the switch and im wondering if thats a problem as well. Dont know what to do with em now.

    Please post a new topic.

I see your website is working fine here
    http://www.criticalmassinteractive.com/

yes, but i am locked out of the back end on both pages. I also used the import export function in wordpress to transfer the files over but for some reason it only grabbed about half of them. I then started FTPing things over, but it just wont take them all. Its weird. The site your looking at is actually missing lots of stuff.

But if i could figure out how to get through to the back end it would be awesome. My old site (http://www.befaughnan.com/wordpress/), when i try to log in with wp-admin, redirects me to the new site (http://www.criticalmassinteractive.com). Then when i log in there, using the correct information for the new site, it gives me this…
