I’ve just spent a frustrating hour trying to install and configure and use the basic SmartyPants document manager. Documentation is negligible–a 68 page document that shows step by step how to interact with the login and payment forms on Smartypants does not really count as a ‘manual’.

Twirling squares of frustration is all I get on the document page. Add [raw] tags as suggested, then discover that this is a plugin that I need to install before I can actually use raw tags–thanks for the tip! Regardless, doesn’t work.

Oh wait, if I hit the refresh button just out of boredom with the twirling squares of tedium, the interface loads–the folders I previously created don’t appear, though, so I recreate one here. Try uploading a file. File location reads something like ‘C:/fakepath/mydocumentname’, doesn’t look promising, does it? Well try anyway.

    Twirling squares of building annoyance.

Deactivate all other plugins. No change.

I’m supposed to consider buying the add ons, which have been promo’d almost as much as I’ve seen the twirling squares of why-the-hell-am-I-doing-this, I can even buy the privilege of getting support for conflicts.

Here’s a suggestion…build the plugin to work and document it properly, then take some responsibility for basic support. You’ll be much more likely to convince people to upgrade if they can actually see value in what you’re doing.

Me? I’m shutting down the twirling squares of there-goes-90-minutes-of-my-life and looking for a different solution.

Hello, usually if you are getting a twirling indicator its a conflict with another plugin. Most of the times adding [raw][/raw] tags before and after the shortcode fixes the issue. Not all themes and plugins are built the same and sometimes you come along with a conflict with your build. Posting here or if you are a premium member contacting support directly should have resolved your issues, please let us know if you need anything in the future.
