    Hello,

I am new to the story of multisite.

I have a few questions, hope someone can help me…

    1) My website is a multisite with subfolders.
    travelcar.rentals
Subfolders are countries where I offer my bussiness:
    travelcar.rentals/montenegro/

As I read, I do not need domain mapping if I use this structure? I am not using Top level domains as my subfolders. Am I right?

    2) Google webmaster tools:
    How to create properly?
DO I need to put my main domain, and also every subfolder is google webmaster tools, or I just need to create one domain there (my main domain)?

    3)Robots.txt
Can someone write me a correct robots.txt file for multisite?

    4) DO I need to create addon domains to my hosting provider or not?

    I would appreciate any help…

With a sub-folder network, your domain remains the same for all sites, so no domain mapping required. FYI, even sub-domain based networks now handle domain mapping natively, so you still don’t need a plugin anymore. It remains available for legacy purposes.

Webmaster Tools (now called Google Search Console) works solely on domain names. As far as GSC is concerned, all of your sub-sites all belong to the one main site. I don’t think this should be a problem for you. In a way it makes things easier, fewer “sites” to check on.

Unless you want to block access to certain search bots or site areas, you don’t really need a robots.txt file. There’s nothing special about robots.txt for WP networks. Block any paths you want to block, otherwise allow access to everything. Some people block access to /wp-admin/ but it’s arguable if that’s even necessary.

You only have the one domain, everything is through sub-folders, so no need to add any to your host.
