• This block is going to be the death of me lol. So this is what I do that causes it to crash:

    1. click on icon block in gutenberg editor
    2. click into “icon picker” (icon library is already set to Font Awesome)
    3. begin typing anything (I was searching for an icon that is a group of people, so I first searched for “person”)
    4. start backspacing (I didn’t like any of those icons, so I was going to start another search for “group” or “people”)
    5. browser freezes, can’t even refresh the page, I must exit the actual tab or entire browser

As an annoying work-around, I save my page right before touching the icon block, and if I try a search and don’t like those options, I just refresh the page before backspacing and try it all over again. Not ideal.

Videos of the errors. The website is a private site so there’s no public access for your to check out.

    Hi @tessawatkinsllc,

Thank you for using Otter and I’m sorry to hear about the difficulties you encountered.

I’ve tried replicating the same issue by following the exact steps as in your first video and couldn’t replicate it. The browser doesn’t freeze on my testing instances, and only one of them is a new website, so I tried to cover both cases, a newly created page and an existing one.

Unfortunately, without being able to replicate the reported issue, it can’t be classified as a bug but only as an edge case.

There might be other settings causing the issue, not only this Otter block, for example a caching plugin or another feature impacting more blocks. As a workaround, I recommend creating a new page and copy-paste the section there. If this doesn’t solve the problem, you can also check if it’s a plugin conflict by disabling the other plugins. In case you found it, we can definitely help with trying to replicate and report the issue to our products team.

    Regards,
    Stefan

Okay, I’ll see if I can narrow it down to any conflicts. Is it okay if I continue to use this thread to post back my findings?

    Hi @tessawatkinsllc,

If the updates are related to the same topic, it’s fine as far as I know. In case you want to ask a different question or report another problem, then it’s better to post a new topic.

    Regards,
    Stefan
