Icon selection area missing

    Hi there,

    I am using a trial version currently and so far am impressed with the comprehensive range of features available. I am starting a travel website and the plugin really helps organise the points of interest easily on a map.

    The only issue I have encountered is that when I create a new marker, the “custom icons” description is present but the actual icon selection range is not. I have tried removing and reinstalling the relevant folder in wp-contents/uploads/leaflet-maps-marker-icons/, I’ve also tried turning the “custom icons” option on in Settings and pointing to the same folder; I’ve tried renaming the folder and having the Settings point to that; I’ve also tried changing the CHMOD settings. None of these have worked.

    I also uninstalled the original installation (done automatically through WordPress); downloaded the zip file and reinstalled via FTP. The same issue keeps occurring. What’s most strange is that if I go into Tools and attempt to Batch Edit Map Markers – it does have the list of icons available. This would be fine, except I want to use different icons for different markers…

    Appreciate any assistance you can offer me. Loving the plugin otherwise!

    Hi,
    first thanks for your feedback (I’d appreciate your review at http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/view/plugin-reviews/leaflet-maps-marker even more 😉
    regarding your issue: can you please provide more infos like a screenshot from the marker edit page? have you already tried switching to advanced editor (as with simplified editor you have to click on “show more icons” to see all).
    If that does not help – can you try to disable all other plugins to see if there is a plugin conflict?

    Thanks for your response Robert. (Rest assured I’ll write a review soon.)

    I have uploaded a snipped screenshot of the icon panel at http://lovefromjapan.org/iconpanel.PNG. I’ve only ever been using the advanced editor (but I did try switching back to simplified anyway, to no avail).

    Disabling all plugins doesn’t help, unfortunately. Any other thoughts?

    mhhhh strange – please check the directory permissions of the icon dir – should have at least read capabilities…

    I’ve done that already. Just rechecked and it’s set to 777 (both read and write capabilities activated for all parties).

    It’s quite strange actually. Can’t think of why the icons show up in the bulk actions page but not on the marker page…

    any log messages in the browser console or php error log when opening Marker edit page? have you also enabled wpdebug to see if there is additional info?

    please also reset the plugins settings, just to be sure as you made changes to custom icon dir settings

    Nothing of note in either the browser console or wp-debug notes.. that I can see, at least.

    I also reset the plugin settings but this didn’t work either.

    Anything else? Can I offer you admin access in case there’s anything I’m missing?

    please try re-downloading the current package and manually overwriting all files on your server. If this does not help either, please send admin login data to info(a)mapsmarker.com so that I can have a look.

    good news: it seems to work again.
    bad news: I dont know why it did not work at first.
    What did I do: I opened an existing marker map, switched to simplified editor and saved the map once – afterwards the icons were shown.

    Sorry for the delay. Thanks a lot for resolving this for me, I really appreciate it.

    Will continue to trial the plugin until the period is up, then I will most likely purchase. I’ll also leave a review soon. Thanks again!
