    For privacy concerns, its been suggested to use IM for ad communication inside the site, I’ve looked into the various plugins and wondered if you had any suggestions?

    Hi,
    one way to do that is to use the WPAdverts BP integration https://wpadverts.com/extensions/buddypress-integration/ it has an option to enable private messages on the Ad details page instead of the contact form.

    I think the PeepSo integration with WPAdverts has a similar feature.

    Other than that you can use some third-party private messaging plugin connecting it to the Ad details pages (the same way WPAdverts BP is connected) should not be that hard.
