IDN domains

Hi, my domain is an IDN domain: sekretær.com (xn--sekretr-rxa.com) When using the site kit plugin and trying to connect the domain to Google Search Consol, it gets stuck in the finale stage. I don’t think the plugin (Site Kit by Google) is IDN ready. Is this something you plan to support in the future?

@marc0pol0 You are correct, domains with unicode characters such as yours may encounter problems during setup. There is an open GitHub issue you can keep track of that deals with this issue below:
https://github.com/google/site-kit-wp/issues/794

Any updates on this? It’s been months and I still can’t connect these kind of sites to Sitekit. I even tried to remove all these properties from Search Console and run the setup again, but without any luck.

It doesn’t seem to be a priority…
Was this plugin actually developed by Google?

@marc0pol0 Many thanks for your patience on this issue. We’ve managed to provide a fix for this with the latest version of Site Kit, version 1.6.0.

Can you update to the latest version and check whether your able to proceed as expected? It would be great to know if this works for you.

I just updated on 4 sites which are using a IDN and I can confirm it’s now working smoothly. Thanks!
