I started managing a site recently that uses Seamless Donations. We received an email from a potential donor that the donation page is causing their browser (IE 11) to crash. They can load the site fine, but going to the donation page causes Windows error message:

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I’ll record this as a bug, but I’m not entirely sure it is. IE is notoriously fussy and it could be everything from needing to clear cache to a corrupted profile. I’ve tested with IE 11 and it has worked, but I haven’t tested with all themes, and it’s possible that JavaScript or jQuery, in combination with something in a theme, is causing IE 11 to dump.

This, sadly, will get even more difficult as we move further and further (farther and farther?) away from IE, but some users still continue to use unsupported browsers.

My best advice is to ask the donor to use a different browser, because clearing cache and the other normal “IE doesn’t work” fixes tend to nuke things like cookies and that’s quite annoying.

P.S. Marking as resolved because IE.

P.P.S. Anyone else seeing IE 11 crashes on the donations page? Let me know.
