Image appearance too small

Hi,

Weird problem with my latest post in WordPress – one of the images refuses to appear at its original size! It seems to default to thumbnail. I can select, from the options on the right-hand side, the option for a medium size but that’s it. If I use the re-size drag buttons the image becomes blurry (the original is clear and sharp).

It’s the one referenced as Fig1a on the link given.

What might I be doing wrong?

If it helps, the original image is 599 x 367.
