• To understand my question and problem, quickly replicate it yourself:

Insert an image into a post mid-paragraph. Save it. View post to see a complete and smooth wrap of all the paragraph’s sentences including the sentence into which the image was inserted.

Now go back into that image and add a caption. View post to see how the sentence into which the image was inserted is now broken. The sentence into which you inserted the image-with-caption is now chopped in half as if it were the end of a paragraph.

I’m not the only one struggling with this: http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/image-captions-create-new-paragraph

This doesn’t appear to be a theme issue. I’ve tried different themes. Same results. Adding a caption to an image inserted mid-paragraph breaks the sentence.

This is happening on a completely virgin WordPress system with no exotic plugins. I’ve been searching for the last two weeks to find an answer to this problem.

I’m a newbiew to WordPress, so it’s not clear to me if there is a process for reaching the appropriate tech people who can verify the problem or suggest the work around that will solve it.
