Hi,
thanks for your message, I’m not sure that I understand what you mean though.
You mean to deactivate WordPress’ default 90% compression for JPEGs?
If so you can deactivate it but it doesn’t make much of a difference as ShortPixel will analyze the visual quality of the image and optimize it accordingly.
Thanks for clarifying this to me,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Yes, I mean the default wordpress image compression.
For example, setting it to 100% to disable it.
I saw a report before where it showed how compressing an already compressed image resulted in worse image quality than just compressing an image once.
Do you not think it’s necessary then to disable wp image compression.
Thanks for clarifying this to me, from our tests and experience, it doesn’t make much of a difference to the end result if you choose the default WP compression to 90% vs. 100%
It is true that we totally do not recommend optimizing an image twice but what we meant by that is to really optimize, e.g. using 60% default quality in WP and then optimize again that image.
I hope it is clearer now 🙂

Alex
