Your 1.5.0 upgrade just came almost at the same time! π
Woow, it seems like a huge improvement.
I’ll try again my cropping issues and comeback with my findings.
Thank you very much and best regards
Hello,
After installing 1.5.0 plugin version, the cropping function is still not working for me.
I’ve selected:
– Image size: Default
– Image dimension: 250x250px
– Crop images? Checked
It is still using the full version of the image, without any cropping or resizing.
I’ve left my URL with that configuration for testing porpouse:
https://www.jaimefranch.com/creativa/
I have to say that with the new function “Image Size”, I can select a smaller one and it partially does the trick for me. At least for the loading speed of the gallery, which has improved a lot.
Also, the images are no more loading stacked, as there is a transition in the meantime.
Could you add a “Loading text” and/or “Loading icon” at this point? Just in case the gallery is big enough and to avoid the user has to wait watching a white page while it is loading.
Thanks a lot for the grate upgrade and best regards!
Hi – I’m sorry for the delay, I’m currently trying to recreate the exact same setup on my lite install, I’ll get back with you as soon as I can see if I can duplicate the same setup, just didn’t want you to think we weren’t listening π
Hello, akyusa01
Nothing to apologize for. I understand you are busy with the new release, and this is a free plugin.
In the meantime I’m playing with the new version. As I said, I can use the “Image size” feature to minimize my issues.
Thank you for your reply. If you need more info, please let me know.
Best regards
Hi again! π The link you gave me above, that’s not using the lite version is it? Because I’m unable to replicate the issue, it looks like you are using the premium version there. Just wanted to confirm that?
It is lite version, for sure π
May I try or change something for testing?
This is the URL with a gallery with cropping set at 250x250px: https://www.jaimefranch.com/creative/
Thanks a lot and regards.
Hi – sorry for all the questions, I don’t have the option for ‘masonry’ layout on my lite version. Can you tell me how you are getting your layout, is that using another script to give you that masonry layout?
Hmmm, i don’t think so. Have no special scripts.
Just created an Envira Gallery, added 12 fotos of 1024px max size in its larger side (almost all images have 3:2 ratio aspect, so aprox 682px in its shorter side).
Options selected in Config tab:
– Number of gallery columns: 4
– Gallery Theme: Base (there is no more options)
– Column gutter width: 10px (default)
– Margin below each image: 10px (default)
– Image size: Default
– Image dimensions: 250x250px (tried a bunch more)
– Crop images: checked
Options selected in Lightbox tab:
– Enable lightbox: checked
– Gallery Lightbox Theme: Base (there is no more options)
– Image size: Default
– Caption position: Float
No more options, just gallery tittle and slug in Misc tab. No custom css.
I can see how the plugin is making 25% width size of the full size image just to fit the 4 column template. As far as I can see my gallery layout seems pretty similar to the Envira Gallery Lite screenshots that I can see in the web. Not sure if its is masonry style.
I don’t think it has anything to do with my issues, but I’m using Pinnacle Theme, of which I have deactivated any image/gallery/portfolio options. I just added this little script in a text area in footer widget just to avoid Pinnacle to open its lightbox at the same time that Envira:
<script type=”text/javascript”>jQuery(document).ready(function ($) {var magnificPopupEnabled = false;$.extend(true, $.magnificPopup.defaults, {disableOn: function() {return false;}});});</script>
Sorry if I’m not being of much help.
Thank you very much for your attention.
Best regards.
HI,
I apologize for the delay, I’m unable to replicate the same issue on my lite version. There’s something in a theme or plugin that is using the masonry layout for that page (as you don’t have this option on the lite as you know) π
I’m just not sure what’s causing it to lay the images out like that instead of using the 250 x 250 grid as the options are pointing to that.

Hi,
Please enable debugging on your site:
http://enviragallery.com/docs/debugging-envira/#faq-debugging
Reload the URL:
https://www.jaimefranch.com/creativa/
Make a note of any on-screen errors that appear.
Hi, I have the same issue with the plugin. The images donΒ΄t crop and I checked the opcion for that.

I apreciate your help.

Hi Tamara,
I’ve actually tested this on one of my dev sites and can see the images are cropped correctly.
Have you tried on a default theme to make sure that your theme isn’t applying any styling? If you change the Image size to something definitive from the list (instead of enter the dimensions yourself) do you still see the same issue?
Just a follow up – it looks like Jetpack is what is forcing the non-cropping issue with their own stying.
Hello,
As you recommended I have:
– enable debugging (as your guide)
– use TweentySixteen theme
– deactivate all the plugins (except envira)
– enable web browser errors Console
Unfortunately there has being no change: the loaded images are still the full resolution, resized to fit the number columns template.
No errors shown in the debug.log or errors console.
The new testing URL with this settings is: http://demo.jaimefranch.com/galeria-envira/
It has got:
– Four column Gallery with 3images (800px wider size)
– Image Size: Default
– Crop images (checked) to 150x150px
I will leave this URL as described for testing purposes. Basic theme, no more plugins.
By the way, I’m not using Jetpack plugin.
Thank you very much for your support.
Best regards.
The only way I could resolved it was deleting jetpack plugin. Now it works.
Thank you for the support!
cheers π
