After several attempts I verified this:
if I add the text to the description or short description in the product editor, the gallery images disappear. If I remove the text they reappear.

Thanks for all the info.
It’s really weird, we have been testing it with different themes and seem that all is working fine, so the problem should be related to your theme or one of your plugins.

We suggest you to make some tests with another theme and if you have the same problem, try disabling your plugins one by one to check which one is causing the issue. If the problem is solved with another theme, you should contact your theme support, maybe they know where could be the problem.

I tried to disable all plugins but it doesn’t work. Instead I tried to install it with the same theme in a test installation and it works. There is something that causes the problem.

Are you using a Child theme in your main site? Maybe you have a customization that is generating the issue.
Also, in this test installation, do you have the same plugins installed?

I tried to replace the theme when there is a problem: however, the problem remains.
can it be something in the code you created?
Obviously updating the page a couple of times before it gives the problem.

If the plugin is working in your test installation the problem should be related to a configuration or a customization in your main site, so for us is not possible to know where is the problem sorry.
The only thing that we can suggest to you at the moment is to not add a short description to the gift card. If we find any similar issue we will let you know.
