• I’m trying to upload an image. It says “HTTP Error”, and then does nothing. If I click the uploads area it lists them as if they were there, but shows no image. If I click one on teh list it shows it to me on site, except its not visible on the blog instead it says:

WARNING: ILLEGAL STRING OFFSET ‘WIDTH’ IN /HOME/AUTOMAG2/PUBLIC_HTML/WP-CONTENT/THEMES/TWENTYFOURTEEN/IMAGE.PHP ON LINE 31
    ×
WARNING: ILLEGAL STRING OFFSET ‘HEIGHT’ IN /HOME/AUTOMAG2/PUBLIC_HTML/WP-CONTENT/THEMES/TWENTYFOURTEEN/IMAGE.PHP ON LINE 31

If I click either of those two warnings, then it shows the image by itself with no blog around it.

What’s the deal twentyfourteen? This i the second image this is happening on, one is a PNG the other JPG. Both do this every time I try to upload them. How can I make them work properly so that they can be seen in my content?

  • Hi SeanBanksBliss

Did you find a solution to this? I’m getting exactly the same error message?

    Cheers

I don’t recall finding a direct solution. I was using a free hosting account which had a bunch of limitations so I switched and restarted a fresh site on my shared paid hosting. I haven’t tried to duplicate the same on the new host (I just abandoned those old pages). It may or may not have anything to do with your hosting limitations if your using a free host. But if your not,.. then I’m sorry but I can’t be of any help as I didn’t actually solve the issue, I just ignored it and moved on to other projects.

Perhaps its related to the twenty fourteen theme, perhaps its a plugin problem.

I suggest you start a new thread about it describing your issue in detail.

You can also hire someone on fiverr for $5 to do some php trouble shooting. Just go to fiverr and search “PHP”, contact them before paying with the error codes, describe your situation and confirm that they think they can probably fix it. <Not what I did, but if your in a pinch it might work.

Please update the WordPress community (via your thread, or this one) if you find out what the issue is.

    Blessing.

    Hi SeanBanksBliss

Thanks for this. I’m using a paid-for host.

    I’ll post if I find a solution.

    Cheers

I also have this problem. If anyone finds a solution, please post it!

I am having this problem too. Tried everything. Disabled all plugins. Contacted host. Trouble shooted this in every conceivable way. WordPress need to fix this problem. It crippled my website.
