This problem has only started happening within the last couple of days.
When checking Yoast SEO plugin on all of my blogposts, it’s displaying/counting the incorrect number of images on each post (by about a factor of 5).
For Example, my blog post about Ban Rak Thai features 17 images I’ve added.
Even if you include the side bar and ads provided by mediavine, it’s still nowhere near 90 images.

I’ve checked that this is not limited to just one post, but all of them.
I have the latest version of Yoast, latest version of WordPress.
I’ve tried on both my account and my second user account.
    MacOS, Google Chrome

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @haveyoumetmatt

Thanks for reaching out. Could you share a screenshot of where Yoast SEO reports that this post has 90 images? You can use any image-sharing service like https://pasteboard.co/, https://snag.gy/, https://imgur.com/, https://snipboard.io/, or even upload the screenshot to your own website. Once you upload it to an image-sharing service, please share the link to the image here.

That’s odd, @haveyoumetmatt, because the post sitemap records 16 images. Could you let me know how you’re adding content to that post? Are you using a page builder like Elementor, the Classic Editor, or the default WordPress content editor? Is this issue specific to this post, or have you noticed it in others?

    Hi, thanks for the response.
All posts on the blog use the default wordpress editor.
All posts are showing these hugely inflated numbers in the yoast plug-in.
Both published and draft posts show the incorrect numbers.

Thanks for following up, @haveyoumetmatt. Please try the following:

    1. Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
    2. Go to Tools > Yoast Test
    3. Locate the Yoast SEO section and click on the ‘Reset indexables tables & migrations‘, ‘Reset Prominent words calculation‘, and ‘Reset Internal link counter‘ buttons. After each click, the page will reload to confirm that the specific reset was successful.
    4. Go to SEO > Tools, and under SEO data, click the “Start SEO data optimization” button to allow Yoast to rescan your content.

Please let us know if the reported issue remains after resetting the optimized data.
