image post format supported?

Greetings — I’m learning how to use Genesis Responsive Slider, and the obvious approach would be to select certain posts/pages with featured images, but the slider settings includes another interesting option: “Format” under “Choose a term to determine what slides to include.” It would be great if the Image post format were used as the selector, but currently I don’t see how to do it, as under Format the slider settings just says “Format.” Perhaps this is because I added post formats to my child theme’s functions.php and maybe they are just not showing up in the slider settings dropdown menu for some reason…though they show up fine when I add a post.

Ideas sure appreciated!
