• In linking to external images, the image resizing feature has stopped working. When I configure the image to display at less than original size it doesn’t do it. Instead, it displays at original size breaking the sidebar and making things look like a mess.

Images linked externally which are not resized display fine.

Would love some idea of what I broke & how to fix it.

  • Try inserting width and height of the image in the link of the external image itself. That will solve the problem.

the image resizing feature has stopped working

Since when/ after doing what have you noticed it? Did image resizing for external images work properly before?

    Here’s the code that’s currently (mis)displaying the image:[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="448"]<img class=" " style="margin-left: 7px; margin-right: 7px;" alt="" src="http://www.haaretz.com/polopoly_fs/1.544381.1377809487!/image/283678518.jpg_gen/derivatives/landscape_640/283678518.jpg" width="448" height="259" /> From an African strongman (Museveni) to a Jewish strongman (Avi Ohayon/GPO)[/caption]

Yes, of course it worked before. This just started a few hours ago. I’m guessing that there may be some html coding error on the page.

The code works fine on testing in my test site.
Switch to a default WordPress theme (2012 or 2013) to see if the problem is theme-specific. If that does not help, try with the same default theme after deactivating all your plugins too.

did you update jetpack from 2.3 to 2.4 ?

i have the same problem after updating and now i dont jnow what to do

Hauzen is right. THe conflict lies in Jetpack. When I authorize a connection to WordPress.com that’s when the image display stops working. There is some sort of conflict or bug in the latest Jetpack version.

As long as I don’t activate Jetpack, I have no image display issues. Which is a mess because w/o Jetpack I have no Akismet & tons of spam!!

You should be able to activate Akismet without JetPack.

If it’s a JetPack issue, please start your own thread on the JetPack forum:

Thanks, I activated Akismet. Don’t know why I thought it was connected to Jetpack. I also posted at the Jetpack forum.

We have the same issue after updating Jetpack. Over 1800 images are displaying too big.

Go to your Jetpack module & disable Photon. That will fix it. In the newest version of Jetpack there was a bug in the Photon module which they haven’t fixed yet.

Please use the JetPack forum for additional help on this topic.
