• I’m having some trouble with the WP Retina 2x Plugin.

I receive this message on the Retina page:
The full-size images should have a resolution of 2400×10000 at least for the plugin to be able generate the 12 retina images required by your website. You also need to upload a retina image for the Full-Size image (might be 4800×20000). You can upload or replace the images by drag & drop. Your PHP configuration allows uploads of 2MB maximum.

The image sizes are very different from the image sizes quoted on your retina dashboard here:
    http://apps.meow.fr/wp-content/uploads/retina-dashboard.png
saying: The full-size images should have a resolution of 1800-1200 at least for the plugin to be able to generate the 2 retina images required by your website. You also need to upload a retina image for the Full Size image (it should normally be 3600×2400). You can upload or replace images by drag & drop. Your PHP configuration allows uploads of 50MB maximum.

I don’t know what website or device needs an image that is “2400×10000 at least” with a full size that “might be 4800×20000”. If I don’t give the retina images these sizes I get a Red error. However there is no way to get images this size under 2MB.

I think this must be an error somewhere. Can you please help? I have removed the plugin, downloaded it and reuploaded as of today, 11 August 2015. I have purchased a Pro license. Thank you.

note- my site is not live yet, I am just trying to get the plug in working so that I can upload images.

    Hello,

This part is “for your information” only, it is based on your image sizes. You don’t need to uninstall and reinstall the plugin, it works, it just this information part that you find strange.

Can you take a screenshot of your Retina Dashboard? Then can you take a screenshot of the Details screen for one of your image?

    Hi Jordy,

I have attached a screenshot for you that show the Dashboard,

and another screenshot with the image details:

The sizes are just insanely large. As you can see the images are not large enough to meet the requirements as I made them before I purchased the pro version which actually has even different requirements than the previous version I had installed.

I purchased the plugin so that I would not have to make the images, but I don’t see how it’s possible to create an image that is 7800x20000px under 2MB which, if I do not supply it, I cannot have the Full Size Retina. If I do not supply a 3840×10000 again, impossible at 2MB I do don’t have all of the media sizes retina-ized.

I hope this will clarify my issue and frustration. I’m excited to get it working 🙂

Thank you so much for getting back so quickly,
    Annette

    Hello,

I think that first, you can disable the Full-Size Retina in the settings. I don’t think you need it since you have really a lot (A LOT, A LOT!!!) of image sizes registered in your WordPress. All those squares…

Looks like you upload already images which are quite big. What I suspect now is that a few images sizes set up in your WordPress are big.

Can you click on DETAILS for one image? Then look at the “red” image size, and can you screenshot that you see? I will give you the explanation on what’s happening.
