image reverts when inserting

    I can’t get the current version of an image to insert into a page. The properly scaled and cropped image (100×100) shows in the media library, but when I go to insert, the uncropped (100 x 140) image shows in the library of images to insert.

    Everything worked fine with the first image I inserted. The second and third aren’t working.

    Google shows a similar question in the forums a while back but it wasn’t really resolved. I have cleared my history, played with my thumbnail setting, signed out, rebooted, etc.

    Any ideas?

    What theme are you using? Is it happening with the default Twenty Twelve theme? Did you disable all plugins to see if that changes anything?

    Disabling the plug-ins had no effect. The theme is custom designed and I have no design notes for it. Have deleted the problem images and started over again but no joy. Can’t explain why it worked fine the first time and not afterward.

    Suggestions?
