Hi Mohsin, your original image is 37KB and the original size of the image plus all thumbnails of the image combined is 175KB. That’s maybe a bit confusing when comparing.
To better see how all the numbers add up, you can go to your media library, change to list view and then click on the “details” link in the compression column. It will show a list with the image, each thumbnail size and the compression totals.
Hope that clears things up!
I see only one image, there is no other thumbnail in my media library https://i.imgur.com/hgqAB3M.png
From your screenshot it looks like you have the plugin turned-off.
Once you activate the plugin it will add a new column on the right hand side of the media library list with a link to the compression “details” for each image. This shows all the different thumbnail sizes in your WordPress installation and information about the image compression totals.
So bring an option to stop realtime compression. Realtime compression is frustrating, that’s why I deactivate plugin after compress done.
Hello Mohsin, thanks for bringing this up. We are planning to make an update to the plugin in August. Your suggestion for delayed compression or the option to disable compression on upload will probably be included.
