    Hello,

First of all, thank you for the great plugin.
I use Glossy for my product photos on my website.
I unchecked (disabled) the “Image backup” option and already used the plugin for my newly uploaded photos. It reduced the size, I can see the lower size in the Media Library.

My question is: I downloaded an optimized photo from my website and the downloaded file has the original file size. Why? How can I know people will only see the optimized photos?

    Thank you.

    Hi,
thanks for the nice words! 🙂

I would need the URL of your site to further investigate this but from our experience the problem noted by you is due to cache.
An easy way to test this assumption is to add something like “?anything” at the end of the URL of any image and see if the optimized version appears.
Afterwards please try to flush your cache and then check again.

I would appreciate your follow-up on this.

    Thank you,
    Alex

    Hi Alex,

I use WP Fastest Cache. Whatever I do on the site I automatically delete all cache. Now I deleted again just to test, opened an incognito page and downloaded an optimized photo. Again, the same size, the original image was downloaded.

    Then…
I added the “?anything”. A miracle happened, the optimized image appeared.

So far I optimized only one product’s photos:

Now the question is, how to tell WP Fastest cache to be friend with the optimized images. 🙁 Because even I delete the cache a hundred times, it won’t help.

    Thank you,
    Lori

    Hi Lori,
    thanks for the follow-up! 🙂

I see that you’re using Cloudflare, is that correct? If so, could you please empty the cache there as well and then check again to see if the optimized image is loaded by default?

    Thanks,
    Alex
