image squeezed

would have used this one, but it squeezes the image in portrait mode on mobile…. (easy backstretch does not!)
so if this could be solved it would be great.

Hi there,
Could I see a URL to your site?
sorry – not yet, because under local develop.
but it seems the image is simply squeezed into viewport and not cutting off the part that doesnt fit – know what i mean?normally one would expect, that the image fits eighter width or height, according to whats neccesary to fill whole viewport maintaining aspect ratio -your plugin seems always trying to fit both, dismissing aspect ratio.
works well even on ios-devices, but optically desastrous 🙂

I understand exactly what you are saying is happening. Typically it happens due to other CSS in your theme, so the only way for me to diagnose it is to view it live.
When the site is live, let me know and I’ll be happy to take a look.
thanks.
maybe pushing it to staging server today. any contact where i can provide you with temporary login?… site online – you got mail.
I’m not seeing any background squeezing there.
Could you show me a screenshot of exactly what you see?
hmmm… wonder what you have seen, and on which device.
thats what i see:
1. landscape

2. portrait

if the aspect ratio of bg-image would be the same, the angle of the guitar-neck would be seen in the same angle… but thats not the case. portrait is squeezed.
try for yourself on ipad etc.: view page in landscape, turn the device to portrait and see whats happening. even with reload the result stays the same.
so see it now?
… no more answer???
It was a holiday weekend in the US and we’ve been a bit overloaded with tickets 🙂
The screenshots you posted are showing up as broken. Could you post them again?
ahhhh. sorry – someone cleaned up and changed filenames.
so here we go again:1. landscape

2. portrait

see it now? obvious?
still on holidays…? 😉
Yes I was still traveling and only returned last night.
Does that issue go away when you activate the default Twenty Sixteen theme?
… that issue of course wont go away when activating default theme!
figured it out meanwhile: one have to set the min-width according to the width of the picture – or, have to use images with 1024px width. if wider than defined, it would squeeze on mobile because of defined min-width it seems … quite logical some way since knowing this, but maybe not best way.
tweaked the css, so it works now for the images i use, but better way is still anticipated 🙂
Actually the problem almost certainly does go away with the default theme. The reason it happens on your site is because of some CSS that’s being applied by the theme.
Glad to hear you’ve worked out a solution 🙂
