I have had trouble with reuploading images as well, I want to make sure I am doing it properly.
I go to Open User Map (WordPress Sidebar)> All Locations > Select Location > Upload image to reupload an image or fix an image that is rotated incorrectly but it will not update on the map.
Am I doing this properly? or is there another location to edit the locations?

@zackcitro you are doing it the right way, but it has indeed a bug which leads to that no new image thumbnail is created when uploading a new image from the backend. Weird, that this has not been discovered earlier. I will fix this also with the next update.
Meanwhile what you could do is to manually delete the /wp-content/uploads/oum-useruploads/POSTID_thumb.png.
