• I already had a basic blog I had made myself. I am now in the process of re-posting my last 10 months-worth of posts into WordPress, and changing the date(!!)

Anyway, I want to use all the images I already had in those posts, but the upload system seems a bit of a pain in the ass. I would rather manage the images and other media myself in my own folder system. So my question is if I just link to my images in a content folder within my wordpress directory, will that suffice? Will there be any problems if I don’t give an absolute, full URL? With relative URLs to those images, I am worried that when my posts are seen elsewhere or from different pages it may not find the image path properly.

Should I always use a full URL path?

If this needs to be simplified, I just meant is it ok to put relative links to images on my site that aren’t in the database?

I don’t want to put images through the upload.

You don’t have to upload the image through WordPress to be able to display it in a blog post, if that’s what you’re asking. You can simply use HTML to display your pictures.
