I found most of the images of the posts on the website have crawl depth of greater than 10, even 50 sometimes. While all posts have acceptable crawl depth.
How can I reduce crawl depth of the posts’ images and bring them less than 5.
    Please advice.
    Website name is : Bluetreeweb.com

    Hello Ishan,

Thanks for your question about crawl depth.

I assume you have used a third-party tool to check your site’s crawl efficiency. First, I will like to reiterate that if your site has 1,000 pages or less, this is not a topic you’ll need to think about much. The Yoast SEO plugin does not have an in-built feature that reduces the crawl depth of your content. However, we have a post at https://yoast.com/crawl-efficiency/ that may provide some more information.

    Thanks for the guidance.
I read the article and saw that it has mention of 301 redirects.
By using screaming frog, I found that most of the author pages on my website are 301 redirected.
Now how can I control or change it? Please guide.

@ishan639 Can you please clarify what you are wanting to change on the author pages? Are you wanting to change them from being 301 redirects?

Also, can you please provide us with an example URL of one of the author pages?

Actually, I do not have much idea about this. These author pages are 301 redirected as well as non-indexable.
So, is it OK or bad for website SEO?
    Please guide in this.

    Thanks for the example URL.

I see that your author page is being 301 redirected to the homepage by the Yoast SEO plugin. This happened because you have turned OFF author archives in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Search Appearance > Archives.

If you’re running a one-author blog, the author archive will be exactly the same as your homepage. This is what’s called a duplicate content problem. If this is the case on your site, you can choose to either disable it (which makes it redirect to the homepage) or to add noindex, follow to it so it doesn’t show up in the search results. Note that links to archives might be still output by your theme and you would need to remove them separately.
