    I have noticed that if adding an image with the image widget and no srcset are set, wp still sets the sizes attribute causing an W3C Error message:

    The sizes attribute should only be set if srcset is present.

    Hi,

    There should always be some srcset values available (WordPress has 3 built in sizes by default), do you perhaps have any plugins (or your theme) that are interacting with the output which might be the cause of this?
